The wire-spoke wheels were repainted in burgundy under the seller’s ownership, and they are mounted with 6.00–16″ BFGoodrich Silvertown bias-ply whitewall tires. A matching spare wheel is stowed beneath a body-color cover out back. The Model 48 rode on a 112″ wheelbase and featured front and rear transverse leaf springs with lever-arm shocks. Stopping power is provided by mechanical drums at all four corners.
