The truck rides on semi-elliptical leaf springs with a suicide front setup and a custom spring rated at ~5k lbs, and the Maxim’s power steering, axles, and air brakes were retained. The builder stated that the crew of the Mt. Washington Cog Railway assisted with some machine and fabrication work on the front suspension parts.
