The wood spoke wheels feature Baker steel rims and Oakland-branded center caps, and they are mounted with 34×4″ Goodrich Silvertown Cord bias-ply tires. Replacement steel rims and wood spokes were installed on the left-side wheels under the seller’s ownership. A spare Universal tire is mounted on the right running board. The Model 40 rode on a 112″ wheelbase and featured front semi-elliptical leaf springs and rear ¾-elliptical leaf springs. Stopping power is provided by rear mechanical drum brakes.
