The 1500 features a coil-spring independent front suspension as well as a live rear axle with leaf springs out back, while stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes. Work completed as part of the refurbishment reportedly included painting the wheels, rebuilding the front calipers, cutting the rear drums, and replacing the master cylinder and front rotors as well as the shocks, tie rods, and tie-rod ends.
