The blue, white, and orange neon lights were installed in 2024 by a craftsman based in Michigan. Additionally, the sign is equipped with an animator that enables the Gulf letters to illuminate individually in order, then flash, and then the sequence starts over. The animator can be turned off, and a speed dial allows it to play faster or slower.
