Factory 16” wheels are wrapped in Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires that were installed in December 2020. Distinguishing features of the 500E compared with other W124 models included a wider track width, flared fender arches, larger four-wheel disc brakes, unique lower body cladding, and a more aggressive front air dam. Service performed in 2020 included replacing the factory self-leveling suspension, installing Sachs shocks, and an alignment. A steering overhaul in 2019 included replacement tie rods and a replacement drag link, and a brake fluid exchange was performed at that time.
