Custom Wooden Stand
The president of the Tahoe Maritime Museum commissioned Allen Marine Engines to rebuild the V12 in 2008. The intention was to produce an exhibit that could also serve as a replacement power plant for the museum’s ride boat, a 28′ Gar Wood 28′ triple-cockpit runabout named Miss Tahoe. The restoration reportedly required 100 hours of labor and included custom machining of internal components. New cylinder heads, valves, and Babbitt bearings were also installed. A Scripps forward/reverse transmission is mated to the block, and the intake and exhaust manifolds are not operational.
