The 10-spoke 15″ alloy wheels wear Shelby center caps and are said to have been refinished by Shelby American in 2005. They are mounted with three 225/60 Falken FK-06U tires and one Dunlop SP Sport D40 M2 tire. A steel spare wheel with a space-saver tire is mounted in the trunk along with a jack. GT500 models were equipped with an upgraded suspension consisting of a front anti-roll bar, heavy-duty front coil springs, and rear leaf springs. Power-assisted steering was optioned from the factory along with power-assisted front disc brakes and rear drums.
